This was a kiosk developed for a Verizon event, intended to be used by children with their parent’s supervision. The object is to build a fun avatar which would then be sent either to a Verizon mobile device or a standard email address.
The challenge here was that the back end system supporting this file did not have the capability to receive bitmaps directly from my Flash file on the fly. So in order to cover all possible dress-up combinations, I ended up building 348 individual JPEGs (87 possibilities, 4 different sizes). I was luckily able to script the resizing, cropping and logo placement of all of the images through batch processing in Photoshop, turning a potential nightmare of days worth of manual image manipulation into a few hours of work including full integration into the kiosk.
